Marketing Coordinator Jobs in Richmond, VA
A Marketing Coordinator is a crucial player in the marketing industry, responsible for supporting all aspects of a marketing plan including planning, executing, tracking and reporting on marketing campaigns. Their duties encompass various tasks from conducting market research, developing and maintaining marketing materials, managing databases, coordinating marketing events, tracking project performance, and handling communications with vendors and clients. They also help in promoting brand awareness, creating advertising materials, developing social media content and analyzing sales and marketing data. They are the vital link between the company, clients and consumers, ensuring all marketing activities align with the brand's strategy and values.
Marketing Coordinators should possess strong organizational and project management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, and digital platforms like social media and email marketing tools is often required. Knowledge in SEO, Google Analytics and CRM software may also be a plus. In terms of certifications, a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field is usually required, although additional certifications like Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) or Certified Professional Marketer (CPM) can provide an advantage. Prior to becoming a Marketing Coordinator, one may have roles like Marketing Assistant, Communications Specialist, or Social Media Coordinator.
