What Were Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking an energetic leader to work collaboratively with technical leads to prepare winning proposals and presentations. The Proposal Specialist will partner with Business Development to lead the development of proposals and interviews within the companys best practices framework. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player, with equal parts creative and organized and possesses project management, writing, and page layout skills. He/she is skilled in working with a team to formulate a pursuits strategic messages. A successful Proposal Specialist has leadership qualities and demonstrates a collaborative mindset, superior communication skills, problem solving ability, organizational skills, and transparency. He/she is a strategic thinker and pushes the status quo for continuous improvement.

What Youll Do:

• The successful candidate will manage proposal development efforts with responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Collaboratively work with proposal team and internal clients to prepare winning proposals, qualifications submittals, and interview presentations
• Facilitate kick off meetings that define expectations
• Identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to proposal schedule
• Facilitate strategy discussion and collaborate with team and technical writers to develop strategy and win themes
• Schedule and facilitate proposal review meetings
• Develop page layout and manage proposal documents
• Lead the team in the development of visual and written content for proposals; draft and/or edit proposal narrative as necessary
• Communicate and coordinate status with the proposal team
• Facilitate final submittal production and delivery (occasionally to include printing/binding/shipping)

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, English, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, preparation, and development of architectural and engineering proposals and qualifications packages for private and government clients
• Strong project management skills
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to focus on details and on the big picture
• Organizational conceptual thinking skills
• Effective decision-making skills
• Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines
• Exceptional writing, editing, and document organization skills
• Experience with Adobe InDesign
• Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Teams experience

Bonus If You Have:

• Familiarity with the AEC Industry, Geospatial Services, LiDAR, Pavement Management, Broadband, Public Safety GIS, NG9-1-1, Indoor Mapping and other technologies
• Experience with proposal database software Deltek Vision

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $95,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
