Position: Digital Content & Social Media Specialist

Job Description

Scope

Christian Academy School System is seeking a creative, mission-minded storyteller to help bring our schools to life through video, photography, social media, and digital content.

This individual will be responsible for capturing and sharing the stories that reflect the heart of Christian Academy while supporting enrollment, development, alumni engagement, and community awareness efforts. The ideal candidate is passionate about Christian education, understands current digital trends, and has the ability to create compelling content that resonates with prospective and current families. This position plays a vital role in helping families understand what makes Christian Academy unique. Through authentic storytelling, video, photography, and digital engagement, this individual will help communicate the mission of developing students with a heart for God while helping prospective and current families experience what it means to be seen, known, and loved.

The Digital Content & Social Media Specialist is a full-time, 12-month role. This position requires regular travel between campuses and occasional evening and weekend coverage of school events. This position reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager.

Qualifications

The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:

  • A strong, clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
  • A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
  • Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of the Christian Academy
  • Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind

The ideal candidate shall possess:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of professional content creation, marketing, communications, or social media experience
  • Strong video shooting and editing skills
  • Photography experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school, church, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
  • Experience creating high-performing short-form video content

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between campuses
  • Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events
  • Ability to lift and transport photography and video equipment
  • Ability to stand and move throughout campus events for extended periods

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Digital Storytelling & Content Creation

  • Identify meaningful stories across all campuses and transform them into engaging content
  • Conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and school leaders

Video Production

  • Plan, film, edit, and publish short-form and long-form video content
  • Create Instagram Reels, Facebook videos, and other emerging digital content
  • Support enrollment, development, and brand awareness campaigns through video storytelling
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality video content

Photography

  • Capture professional-quality photography at events, classrooms, athletic competitions, chapels, performances, and special programs
  • Maintain an organized digital photo and video library

Social Media Management

  • Manage day-to-day social media content across school platforms
  • Develop and maintain content calendars
  • Write captions, schedule content, and monitor engagement
  • Stay current on social media trends and best practices

Admissions & Development Support

  • Partner with Admissions and Development to support enrollment and fundraising goals
  • Create content supporting open houses, campaigns, events, annual fund efforts, alumni engagement, and special initiatives

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track engagement, audience growth, and content performance
  • Provide monthly reports and recommendations for improvement

Outcomes

Measurability of outcomes will be based on the annual goals set for the department, which will include a timeline of attainment

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Consistent production of high-quality photo and video content
  • Growth in social media engagement and reach
  • Increased support of enrollment and development initiatives
  • Strong representation of all campuses and programs
  • Timely completion of projects and assignments
  • Development of a robust library of visual assets
  • Effective communication of Christian Academy’s mission and culture

Reporting Relationship

The Digital Content and Social Media Specialist reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager.
