Business Development Manager

RPME manages residential properties across South Dakota, Iowa, and Kansas. We add over 1,000 apartment units a year and were hiring the person who makes that number grow faster.

Theres no base salary. Theres no ceiling either. Every door you bring under management pays the same rate unit one or unit ten thousand. If youve built a book before and know how to move fast, the math works in your favor from day one.

The Patterns Were Hiring For

Trailblazer

Youre driven by independence, financial upside, and public recognition in that order. You communicate conceptually and persuasively, and you can work a room or a phone just as effectively as a well-crafted email. You mentor naturally, delegate comfortably, and dont mind moderate management complexity as long as the pace is fast and the environment keeps changing. You dont procrastinate on deals you procrastinate on bureaucracy.

Persuader

Youre high energy, quick to connect, and you close on enthusiasm as much as logic. Your texts get replied to. Your calls get answered. You motivate the people around you without trying. You need to delegate to stay in your lane and you know it. You thrive in environments that reward speed and change, and you lose energy fast when the pace slows down.

What Youll Actually Do

One thing drives your commission: execute new management agreements. Walk properties. Build relationships with owners, brokers, syndicators, and investors. Pitch. Close. Hand off cleanly to operations. Repeat.

The expectations that keep you in the seat (reviewed quarterly, not tied to commission):

  • Build and maintain strong investor and owner relationships
  • Identify and qualify new multifamily deal opportunities
  • Stay aligned with operations, marketing, and leadership

Commission is mechanical close units, get paid. Performance management covers everything else. We dont mix the two.

The Compensation, In Plain Terms

  • Paid per new apartment unit added under RPME management
  • No quota. No threshold. No cap. The 1st door pays the same as the 10,000th.
  • Paid over 12 months to avoid clawbacks
  • 90-day ramp with a recoverable draw while you build your pipeline

At our current growth rate, a BDM can earn a strong six figures. A BDM who accelerates it earns more. The territory is open. The ceiling is yours to set.

Who This Is For

Youre probably a fit if:

  • Youve personally closed multifamily management agreements, BD deals, or comparable B2B transactions where you owned the full cycle
  • The phrase 100% commission makes you lean in, not lean out
  • Youve built a book of business owners, brokers, syndicators, investors that you can activate from day one
  • You can walk into an owner meeting cold and leave with a verbal commitment
  • You move fast, communicate clearly, and dont wait for someone to hand you a script

  • You need a guaranteed base to plan your life
  • You want to manage a team more than carry a number
  • You prefer structured environments with clear playbooks for every situation
  • You havent closed a deal you sourced yourself in the last 12 months
