Job Description
The Senior Content Marketing Specialist is a key contributor to Vertafores marketing initiatives, driving engagement and growth through high-performing, strategically aligned content. As part of the Carrier Demand Generation Marketing team, this role plays an important part in the full content lifecyclefrom ideation and storytelling to creation and optimization across channels.
The ideal candidate will create content that connects with our audience, crafting compelling narratives that increase awareness, build trust, and support demand generation goals. You are a strong storyteller who brings curiosity, attention to detail, and a results-oriented mindset to your work.
With a forward-looking perspective, you leverage emerging technologies, including generative AI, to enhance creativity, efficiency, and impact. You are familiar with AI prompting, content generation tools, and using GPTs to help you identify topics, create, scale, and optimize content.
Whether contributing to thought leadership, exploring new formats to reach our audience, or developing content that educates prospects on a product, you'll play a meaningful role in advancing Vertafores brand and helping insurance carriers succeed.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Implement content strategy: Support the development and delivery of a content strategy that engages and educates our carrier audience across all stages of the buyer's journey.

Create compelling, results-driven content: Write, edit, and optimize copy across ads, emails, blogs, presentations, reports, eBooks, scripts, infographics, webpages, and landing pages.

Contribute to visual storytelling: Partner with the creative team to guide content design that captures attention, builds trust, and drives action.

Optimize content performance: Use data and analytics to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and improve content effectiveness.

Manage content projects: Coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables to support successful delivery of content initiatives that are on time and on brand.

Audit and enhance existing content: Review and optimize existing assets, identify gaps, and repurpose content to maintain relevance and performance.

Stay informed on trends: Monitor industry insights, competitor activity, and emerging topics to inform content and inspire new ideas.

Maintain brand voice and quality: Ensure consistency in tone, message, and storytelling across all content.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with SMEs, product marketing, demand generation, digital, and design to align content with campaigns and strategic priorities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated experience contributing to content strategy and delivery in B2B SaaS marketing.

Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to high-quality deliverables.

Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills.

Experience using project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Asana) to coordinate workflows, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of cross-functional content initiatives.

Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how to craft, structure, and optimize content for discoverability across both traditional search engines and AI/LLM-driven search environments.

Solid understanding of the buyers journey and the role of content at each stage.

Ability to follow brand guidelines for tone and voice.

Data-informed approach with a willingness to test, learn, and optimize.
Qualifications

BA/BS degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing, or related field.

3+ years of experience writing for content marketing, preferably in B2B software or technology.

Experience writing for senior-level audiences with an understanding of the buyers journey.

Experience in the financial or insurance industry is a plus; curiosity and ability to learn quickly are highly valued.

Experience developing and optimizing content with awareness of how AI and large language models (LLMs) influence search, discovery, and engagement.
