Position Overview The Communications Manager supports the execution of Essential Access Health's communications strategy, ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across platforms and audiences. This role focuses on content development, digital communications, and day-to-day coordination to advance the organization's visibility and support fund development and external affairs priorities. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Manager plays a key role in translating organizational priorities, programmatic work, and fundraising needs into clear, compelling communications that reflect the organization's voice and impact. Core Responsibilities Content Development + Execution Draft and produce a range of communications materials, including newsletters, email campaigns, website content, reports, and social media content Support development of donor-facing materials, including appeals, stewardship content, and campaign messaging Translate programmatic, policy, and organizational updates into accessible and engaging content Digital Communications Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational priorities Execute social media strategy, including content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking Support email marketing efforts, including list management, content development, and distribution Communications Coordination Support implementation of communications plans and campaigns across teams Coordinate timelines, workflows, and deliverables to ensure timely execution Maintain editorial calendar and support content planning processes Fund Development Support Partner with Fund Development team to support donor communications and campaigns Ensure timely production of materials for fundraising efforts and funder engagement Support development of materials that strengthen the organization's case for support Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with program, policy, and leadership teams to gather information and develop content Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and consultants as needed Ensure alignment of communications across internal and external audiences Brand + Quality Assurance Ensure all communications align with organizational voice, messaging, and brand standards Review and edit content for clarity, consistency, and quality Maintain templates and tools to support consistent communications Tracking + Reporting Track performance of digital communications, including email and social media metrics Support reporting on communications activities and outcomes Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and reach Qualifications 4-6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related fields Strong writing and editing skills across multiple formats and audiences Experience managing digital communications, including websites, email platforms, and social media Experience supporting communications for fundraising or nonprofit organizations preferred Strong organizational and project management skills Core Competencies Clear and compelling writer with strong attention to detail Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Collaborative and responsive to cross-team needs Strong judgment in handling messaging and content Ability to translate complex information into accessible communications What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months) Consistent, high-quality communications across platforms and audiences Well-executed email, digital, and social media efforts with clear engagement Strong support for fundraising communications and campaigns Clear coordination and timely delivery of communications materials Reliable systems for tracking and improving communications performance
