Position OverviewThe Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication initiatives that elevate the visibility and reputation of St. Johns Parish Day School. This role oversees both internal and external communications while ensuring consistent branding, engaging storytelling, and effective promotion of school programs, events, and community life.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self starter with strong design and writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced school environment.
This is a full time, 12 month administrative position working closely with the Head of School, Director of Admissions, Director of Development, faculty, staff, and the Administrative team.
Key Responsibilities Marketing & Brand Management- Develop and execute marketing strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and enrollment interest
Maintain and strengthen the schools brand identity across all platforms and materials
Design compelling print and digital marketing collateral for admissions, advancement, summer programs, and school events
Manage all branded promotional materials and merchandise
Continuously update and enhance the school website to ensure timely, engaging, and accurate content
- Create and distribute the schools weekly newsletter, The Spirit Newsletter
Write and edit communications for families, faculty, staff, and the broader community
Serve as a key communications partner to school leadership during emergency communications and school wide announcements
Capture and share school life through photography, video, social media, and website storytelling
Maintain media relationships and coordinate professional photography and videography as needed
- Manage and grow the schools social media presence and online visibility
Monitor marketing performance, digital engagement, and advertising effectiveness
Research emerging marketing trends, tools, and platforms to maximize outreach and audience engagement
Coordinate advertising campaigns and online marketing partnerships
Collaborate across departments to promote school events and initiatives
Support admissions, development, graduation, fundraising events, and community programs
Assist with planning and promotion of Open Houses and other major school events
Serve as liaison for yearbook and memory book production
Participate in school events and community programs as an active and visible member of the St. Johns community
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related field preferred
• 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, branding, or related work
• Exceptional writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
• Experience with graphic design platforms, website management, email marketing, and social media management
• Strong photography and or videography experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
• Experience in independent schools or nonprofit environments is a plus
