The Visual Communications Specialist is responsible for the creation, production, and management of visual assets used across marketing and communications channels. This role works closely with the Marketing Communications team, Product Management, and other departments to produce high-quality photography, video, and related visual content that supports company goals. The position emphasizes strong photo and video production skills, with opportunities to develop motion graphics and animation capabilities over time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Lead the execution of photo and video production projects based on priorities, creative direction, and timelines defined by the Marketing Communications Manager.

Serve as the primary visual communications contact for Product Management, Marketing Communications Specialists and other internal stakeholders, ensuring photo and video requirements are clearly defined and met for launches, promotions, and events.

Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing Communications Specialists and other internal stakeholders in developing shot lists and basic storyboards for photo and video projects.

Coordinate with internal teams to plan logistics for photo/video shoots, including:

Schedule with external partners or customers

Establish and enforce pre-shoot checklists to ensure consistent readiness, safety, and quality standards

Plan personnel needs to cover photo, video, social and any other content requirements

Prepare all internal equipment (i.e. cameras, tri-pods, mounts, etc.) and any needed rental equipment to support shoots

Lead onsite shoots to ensure all safety protocols are followed, external partners understand plans and goals, and everyone on the team understands their role.

Direct onsite capture of high-quality product, event, and scenic photos and video to support marketing deliverables.

Notify internal stakeholders when raw assets are ready for review as appropriate.

Edit and produce videos from raw footage, including basic color correction, audio balancing, and assembly per approved outlines or storyboards.

Maintain image standards, brand guidelines, and logo usage in accordance with corporate and group standards.

Research voiceover talent for corporate videos and coordinate procurement as needed.

Lead draft reviews and incorporate stakeholder feedback through final video approval.

Deliver final video files in required formats and ensure timely handoff to Marketing team members for distribution.

Organize, manage, and maintain photo and video assets to ensure efficient storage, usability, and integration with digital asset management systems, in coordination with IT.

Maintain photo and video equipment, ensuring proper use, storage, and security.

Keep up-to-date inventory of company photo and video equipment.

Provide basic technical support related to photo and video equipment for other departments.

Stay current on photo and video tools, equipment, and editing software; recommend upgrades as appropriate within budget.

Maintain and continually develop technical video production skills to raise the quality level of Marketing videos. Research, test and suggest new techniques and video effects to enhance capabilities.

Plan regular communication with KUHN Group photo/video contacts to ensure commonality of equipment and procedures. Work with them to share experiences and establish best practices to maximize efficiency and uniformity of visual assets on the Kuhn Group level.

Explore Cinema 4D rendering and animation software as part of professional development.

Collaborate with teammates on rendering/animation projects as skills and experience grow.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts for departmental processes and workflows.

Contribute to a collaborative, professional team environment.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all quality and safety procedures.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or GED is required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, multimedia, or a related field is preferred. Three years of experience in photography and/or videography production is preferred. Portfolio, demo reel, or examples of relevant photo and video work is required (link preferred). Working knowledge of tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and DSLR or mirrorless camera systems is required. Basic audio recording and cleanup (microphones, voiceover integration) experience preferred.
