Marketing Director - Commercial Group

Position Summary:

The Marketing Director will oversee strategic marketing efforts aimed at accelerating new product development, expanding market presence, and driving overall business growth. This role will emphasize product management through comprehensive market research, targeted positioning, and meaningful customer engagement. Combining creativity with strong business insight, the Marketing Director will bring innovative solutions to market, elevate brand visibility, and collaborate across functions to support the company's long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with core capabilities and market trends.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
  • Support strategic partnerships and alliances to expand market reach and drive revenue.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to position the Commercial Group ahead of emerging trends and market shifts.

Product Management & Market Research:

  • Lead product lifecycle management from ideation through commercialization and post-launch performance analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, voice of customer (VoC) interviews, and competitor benchmarking to guide product development and positioning.
  • Define and articulate value propositions that resonate with key customer segments and differentiate the brand in the market.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and sales to prioritize and launch high-impact products.

Strategic Customer Engagement:

  • Partner with key customers to gain insights that influence product direction and value delivery.
  • Develop customer segmentation and engagement strategies to deepen relationships and drive loyalty.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in internal planning and decision-making.

Marketing Strategy & Positioning:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans that align with business development objectives and brand positioning.
  • Strengthen marketing communication through increased presence at industry trade shows, targeted social media strategies, and proactive public relations efforts to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Oversee branding, messaging, and content creation for digital, print, and trade events.
  • Manage marketing budget and measure the performance of campaigns to continuously improve ROI.
  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging across all channels and platforms.

Team Leadership & Budgeting

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team.
  • Develop and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective investments and measurable returns.
  • Report regularly on performance metrics to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in B2B marketing, preferably in manufacturing or industrial markets.
  • Proven track record of launching new products and entering new markets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with DOTs or infrastructure-related markets is beneficial but not required.
