Tolles Career and Technical Center is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications and Marketing Specialist to lead the districts communication efforts and enhance its public image. This individual will manage digital and print communications, maintain a consistent brand identity, and collaborate across departments to showcase Tolles programs, culture, and student success. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in digital media, content creation, and public relations, with a passion for storytelling in an educational environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain and update the district website with accurate, timely, and branded content.Manage official Tolles social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.) to promote programs, events, and achievements.Develop consistent messaging and visual branding across all communications channels.Design and distribute newsletters, press releases, videos, and promotional materials.Capture and produce high-quality photo and video content for internal and external use.Partner with the districts career tech programs (e.g., art, design, video/broadcasting) to create student-driven content.Collaborate with the Student Recruiting and Admissions Specialist to align messaging and outreach strategies.Track engagement metrics across platforms and adapt strategies for greater reach and impact.Respond to media inquiries and support external relations with professionalism.Ensure all public-facing content complies with district policies and state regulations.IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Associates degree or bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, digital marketing, or media/public relations.Proficiency with social media management, website content systems (e.g., WordPress), and design/editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills for both digital and print materials.Familiarity with educational or nonprofit communication is a plus.Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.Valid drivers license and ability to travel for events and content creation.Availability to work some evenings and weekends.BENEFITS:Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
