The role of the Senior Marketing Writer is to:
? Distill the facts about our complicated financial products and concepts into simple, benefit-oriented headlines and bulleted copy that communicates the products? benefits without use of jargon and ?legalese.?
? Help conceive and then write marketing campaigns, sales ideas, fliers, postcards and other materials to support the launch, promotion and ongoing sale of company Variable Annuity Products.
? Draft, edit and provide copy updates for ?core? variable annuity sales literature targeted to the individual investor.
? Write articles, newsletters, and white papers on financial topics, from simple to advanced, for audiences that include financial advisors, as well as individual investors.
? Understand the compliance environment in which we must we must create materials and be creative about complying without falling into jargon and legalese.
? Follow projects through the development process from concept to completion, including proofing and signoff of design/bluelines, working closely with product marketing executives and the design staff.
? Edit materials from outside writers when necessary.
? Contribute ideas for communications strategies/brainstorming with the Product Marketing & Communications team.
? Serve as his or her own ?Project Manager? once an assignment is made?setting schedules, initiating compliance review of materials, communicating with internal customers, including Product Marketing & Communications management.
Qualifications:
? Must have at least 5 years of Financial Services Communications experience and a Bachelor?s Degree.
? The person will preferably be knowledgeable about and have experience writing experience about Variable Annuities, Mutual Funds, Insurance, Investing or Financial Services in general.
? Familiarity with IRA plans and 401(k) plans is a plus.
? The strongest writing/editing/proofreading skills are a must. Experience working in a PC/Windows environment is required; PowerPoint skills also a plus.
